MDW: Johnny is the nice one. Cash causes all the trouble.

With a 3 day weekend, I decided to plan a last minute road trip. I wanted to choose a city that was close enough, one with a lot of culture and activities to offer. So, I chose Nashville, TN.

Day 1 of MDW in the infamous Music City of America
There was a wonderful outdoor concert at the Parthenon and Centennial Park. Not only were there food trucks galore, they had art showcases, pet sitters with toys, a kids area with toys, hula hoops, a beer garden, and much more.

At night, we explored the happenings of downtown.
With the beautiful lights on 5th street in the Art District, to the infamous Printer's Alley with Nude Karaoke, to all the bars, restaurants, and cowboy boot stores down Broadway. Because of the holiday weekend, the streets were absolutely packed. The sidewalks are packed shoulder to shoulder.
All bars with live music had lines out the door and around the corners to get in. It was quite a scene seeing so many people with cowboy hats, cowboy boots, line dancing, and singing country songs at the top of their lungs. For me, a west coast gal who doesn't listen to much country, this was a trip and it was awesome getting to dance with and talk to some of these people.
Apparently this is also a destination weekend for numerous Bachelorette parties. In the first night alone, I counted at least 20 bachelorette groups wearing matching shirts, wigs, or dresses.

Day 1, I was so pleasantly surprised by Nashville.
